About Us

We are a home-educating family, running the business from home, during what spare time we can carve out. Please bear with us if we are unable to respond to phone messages or emails immediately. We have recently taken over the business trusting in the Lord to guide us, and praying that our books will bring great blessing.

We want to continue to run Rainbow Books in much the same way as the previous owners: we are aiming to provide Christian home educators in the UK and Europe with a range of reliable and trustworthy literature. Quite a lot of our books come from America, though we also supply some distinctively British items.

We are active members of a local evangelical church. We live in Cornwall, which we love. We have been home educating since January 2003, using a wide variety of curricular material. We do not want you to think that we are experts in home education just because we are running this business. We are not experts. Our children are still young. They, and we, are a work in progress. We pray that they may know the Lord while they are young, and grow up into godly adulthood. No doubt you pray the same for your children.

Although we want our home education to be the assumed and usual way of things in our family, we have a schedule, and find it helpful. We are flexible with it. We do chores, and find that they are a blessing to us. We want to see godly obedience in our children that comes from the heart, and we want to train them in a way that will bring this about. We long for children of good character, who work hard academically too. We feel completely inadequate for all these high aims, and pray for wisdom and strength.

Five years ago, we thought all home educators were crackpots. God has blessed us greatly, and made us see things a little more clearly. We didn’t come up with much wisdom on our own, but have relied heavily on the insights of those who have gone before. Much of this came out of the books that we now find ourselves listing in this catalogue. They directed us to the Word. May the Lord bless you similarly as you read.
